Jet McBride's trial started on December 10, 2013. Kai was not a witness at his trial, but the court heard his testimony from the preliminary hearing. The Fresno beat reported that McBride testified that he thought he was Jesus and never intended to hurt anyone. He claimed that he didn't intentionally drive into the workers. On January 6, 2014, Jet McBride was found not guilty of attempted murder and battery. It was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. Juror still had to deliberate on whether or not McBride was not guilty by reason of insanity, which would determine his sentencing.
