Medical School - How Did You Make the Move Out of Medicine?
I did more and more work on management and business while I was in medical school. For one of my elective blocks in fourth year, I helped a merchant bank set up a healthcare VC fund. And then I realized, you know, I just want to pursue this. So I never applied for the residency match. I found employment opportunities to join after I graduated from medical school. And then just started when I graduated. They thought that I was crazy at my medical school,. Though there were three other people in our graduating class who did some kind of business out of medical school. Two have returned to medical practice and two are still going today.
