The Role of Covariates in Phonetic Processing
In terms of how I computed these, I used a very large language corpus basically to a spoken language corpus. To make the model kind of complete, I put everything in the model to begin with and then split things up by those different factors later on. And that being said, some of some of the properties in here too, I actually wanted to look at phonetic processing as a function of the, for example, surprise all or predictability. So originally, some of these were intended as covariates, but they end up being quite important to the analysis.
