Java - What's Happened to Us?

When Java added generics, I in dot net one point one, they added them under a completely separate namespace. So it was like later after it was fully implemented that I was started using them. Yeah, now they're they're really, really useful. But yeah, for like a decade, Java was just slow to develop things because they were so incredibly worried about introducing some new language feature or whatever that would break people's existing code.
