Using a Bucket Approach
A bucket approach is a way of looking at your portfolio. The idea here, mark, is that in times of volatility or in down markets, you have two to four years of relatively stable funds to draw down. Then as you deplete each bucket, you can rebalance and refill them with acits from the longer term bucket above.
When you spend your working life saving and investing, it can be a little scary when it comes time to shift your mindset and start withdrawing from those accounts. Whether you have a 401(k) or an IRA, what strategies can help you make the most of your retirement nest egg?
