I Think the Blinken Visit Isn't a Stroke of Luck

Wang Yi pledged to fight back in the New Year against all forms of hegemony, rebuff any attempts by external forces to interfere with China's domestic affairs. The Blinken visit episode has significantly derailed hopes for an immediate detente, even though there were substantive attempts on Chin Gangs and China side to make US China peace and stability talks happen. I think they would be much more happy with Blinken than with Mike Pompeo who was once enemy number one. But if we look at where the most substantive change has happened or where it would ideally be happening this year is Europe. More than the US China has to prevent its decoupling with the EU.
