The Left Handed Side of Evil

In many cultures being left handed is discouraged. It's thought to be evil or sometimes a representation of the devil. Lefties were accused of practicing witchcraft in the middle ages. And once we had formal education, often lefties were forced to use their right hand by like tying the left hand behind the back. This persists in many Asian countries due to this bad luck associated with the left side in their culture. I actually tried to find out when this practice was stopped in Canada. But my surface Google searching didn't really yield anything.
