Rhetoric Is Important in All Forms of Human Interaction

In knowledge work there is premium on recent knowledge, the most current knowledge is more valued. Matt's was talking about how knowledge is very much caught up in things like fashion and fads. It's actually very deliberately caught up in that in order to appear knowledgeable one has to be current or even forward looking. So there is a very purposeful de-emphasis on knowledge of the past which I guess this way wouldn't even count as knowledge anymore.
