Light is both a particle and a wave. It still can force something forward even though it does not have mass. And this is where we get into the concept of a solar sail, which is a legitimate way to make a spacecraft move. This is how starships in Earth's world are built to travel. They're using some sort of propulsion like this at some point. Some science fiction movies that are trying to have some basis in reality will have these kind of solar sails, spacecrafts, involved in them. So it's not totally out of the realm of possibility.
