What Is the Higgs Bosun?

The existence of this field was added exactly to sort of make sense of why we could see some particles. It took 50 years to then actual see the signs of this, which is perhaps another part of the reason why people were so excited about it. If the higs was lighter than it actually has turned out to be, it might have been seen earlier. But equally, it's quite fortuitous, i guess, that it's not much heavier, otherwise we might not have even seen it yet. S kind of a nice sweet spot.
