Munro and the Whisper of a Whip

James Munro is chained to an African man on a slave ship. They are marched through the streets of Cairo, following a train of camels and pack animals. Their faces are lifeless, white with dust, and their bodies broken under the weight. One by one he looks into their sullen resign for a sign of life but sees only ghostly visages of broken souls.
