The Perils of Being in the Stress Center

Peter Navarrette: Is it worse to be in the stress center, or is it worse to being in the comfort zone when it comes to making long-term decisions? He says we are highly emotional and highly impulsive. We take too much risk at a time when we're paying the least amount of attention; so there's a sense of euphoria. At the other extreme, he says, we take too little risk at precisely the time when we should be taking more.
