The Importance of Jokes in Comedy

I think the main thing that showed delivers is jokes. I want high octane high distillate comedy in terms of jokes which is what stand up is literally just set up punchline ad nauseam like it's what it really threw me off when I started doing stand up in Scotland because the Scots there their stand up doesn't come out of vaudeville ours does ours ours is just vaudevilles only we wear plaid now and we stand in front of a red brick wall as opposed to having a stick and double and dummies and things. So we're coming out of that joke joke joke joke joked joke mindset. A lot of shows have altered that balance to be honest
