The History of the Hemudu Culture

The hemudu culture emerged on the southern banks and coastal lands of the yankee river. To the north of the river, another culture was emerging at around five thousand b c e. This is called the maja bang culture - named after the site of maja bang. The paddy fields excavated in conjunction with the majaban culture demonstrate that rice was a very serious production of this region.
