This chapter analyzes the emissions associated with building electric vehicles compared to gasoline vehicles. It finds that while the emissions from manufacturing an electric vehicle are initially higher, they are paid off within a year and a half of driving for a pickup truck and about two years for a car.
Can the grid handle a 100% electric world? Neil deGrasse Tyson and comedian Chuck Nice explore the carbon impacts of electric vehicles and achieving zero emissions with chemical engineer for Union of Concerned Scientists, David Reichmuth.
