How to Build a Reputation From Private Audits
A lot of bug reports, really juicy ones that don't ever see the light of day because the project doesn't want them. If you have public reports, like if you do private audits and the project lets you audit, it lets you present a report. So essentially just normal auditing without being a white hat hacker, normally, normal audits will always be public. That is the way to build your reputation,. And obviously, public contests are extremely helpful for that. You can just build a repo or a portfolio with the vulnerabilities that you find. Even with the reports, you can hear interviews of some auditors from Spearbit, for example.
