The Power of Stoicism

Every person I've ever met who's got into Stoicism seems to have to some extent stayed into it. People identify with these sayings and ideas at a deeper level than Christianity or something. The Stoics believed in the cognitive theory of emotion. And 2000 years later, that's now substantiated by huge volumes of research evidence. So, when people tell themselves it's not things upset us but our judgement's about it, you know, that's a principle that they find consistently helpful.
