Aquinas on the Theological Virtues
Aquinas recognizes that according to the grace of original justice, Adam and Eve in the garden, intellect, will, and the passions all moved in tandem with each other. Even after baptism, our passions move often contrary to what we know by reason, to be true. This is the whole drama of temptation. We can know and love God in himself beyond the powers of our natural knowing and loving and knowing. That's what's different about the Christian.
