10. Ten Pronunciation Mistakes Brazilian Portuguese Speakers Make

The InFluency Podcast

CHAPTER

The Most Common Mistakes People Make in Brazilian Portuguese

Brazilian Portuguese speakers tend to mispronounce the M at the end of words in American English. They turn it into an nasal sound like an N sound instead or an NG. Instead, when there is an M in the spelling, the vowel before becomes nasal. That means the air comes out through the nose and not really an M. It's pronounced as N or NG which is going to be pronounced Bang. So practice saying these words properly so you'll start getting used to pronouncing them correctly.
