Optimism in the American Human

i'm guessing there have to be national differences in optimism. Benjamin franklin, he had this parable of the handsome and deformed leg. I think what's going on here is attention. Maybe it is a sort of particularly american, i say, uniquely American bias. But also may be itself a product of a bias to want to see that kind of thing. It's very hard to do this scientifically. What you 're saying now relates back to what ben franklin is suggesting. He was essentially saying, if you tell yourself certain story make you feel happy. And now you're saying that if you tell your friends about being optimistic they will too. There could be virtuous cycles
