The Origins of the Open-Sized Software Peer Review Process

The Journal of Open Source Science grew out of ARP and SIE. The organization is a software federation for researchers to either come for tools or a place for them to sort of deposit their tools that they've built. When we first started in 2010, writing software was hard. A lot of researchers were not writing software. But I think over time, we quickly realized that software was becoming easier to develop.
