The most famous internist of the 20th century was Sir William, most are no relation to me. He has a whole book of aphorisms and his favorite of all of them goes like this: There's scarcely any condition so grave that it cannot be made worse by surgery. Well, in surgery, you know, combined with a medical system that encourages intervention over prevention or profit driven for crying out loud is a prescription for catastrophe.
