Ronenberg: The legal distinction between assassinations and targeted killing does is not limited toa verbal gymnastics. It would actually preclude the killing of a scientist, because the target has to be an operational, a legitimate target under the law of war. And so one of the things that the israeli doctrine that you're describing, one of the pieces of work that it does, is it collapses the distinction between a combatant and a civilian if the person is opposing a threat through their work. Is that right? Ronenberg: Yes, it its it's absolutely right.
