This chapter examines the significant transformation of Maplewood, Minnesota from a predominantly white community to one that embraces Black families, influenced by a clandestine business arrangement. Through personal anecdotes, the speaker highlights the challenges faced by early Black residents and the evolving sense of community and belonging that emerged against a backdrop of historical segregation.
