62 Shekels in the Book of Daniel
Dariu's age suggests that he represents a new balance. In chapter nine, verses 24, 27, daniel receives a revelation concerning the completion of the 70 years told for the desolations of jerusalem by the prophet jeremiah. The fact that the very specific number 62 only appears once in scripture is quite noteworthy. It raises the possibility that we ought to read the events of chapter six as a preview of the seventieth week of the prophecy of chapter nine.
