Humans have not passed this strain on to other humans. This would be direct contacts but it's not well substantiated. So I think essentially, the conclusion is that this virus, whilst it can have severe outcomes in humans, it's not in a form that's adapted such that it's easily able to transmit from one human to another. That process is not 100% failure proof so that's where a little mistakes are made and that's how the progeny may have certain small changes mutations," he says.
