The late philosopher science Bruno Latour had an interesting idea where he asked us to think about the pandemic as a kind of dry run for climate change. And if that's the case then there are some major downsides in terms of thinking about how we might respond to the climate crisis. We also saw many public health responses devolve from the international down to the national or in the case of the US down from the national to the state and below that to the county and city level.
