Do You Have a Phonological Process?
"My normal process for coming up with a phoning inventory is I just, I draw up the IPA constant chart," he says. "I sit there and I think about what distinctions do I want and what sort of particular sounds sound nice?" He adds: "If it really feels unnatural for, say, you have voice-frickitive at the end, but at the beginning it sounds perfectly natural... that happens to be natural."
