After the successful assassination attempt of 18 81, alexander the third created two more office in moscow and warsaw to insure nothing hindered the work of this newly reorganized secret police apparatus. The effect of all this on the people's will organization was ft and devastating. They rounded up anyone who might have been evenn tangentically linked to people's will, smashed their presses, hanged anyone they thought a ringleader and exiled the rest to siberia. In the short term, it meant that people's will was finished as a viable revolutionary organization. But there were still pockets remaining out there, more committed than ever to nuing the terrorist campaign.
