The Myth of the Casting Project

This idea predates that in the way that colonists and neo-colonial ideas were really invested in finding difference. What was especially unsettling to me about this particular claim was that it didn't stay confined to academia, not in the slightest. It traveled through museum representations where thousands of people a year would observe an African body being cast on display. The process of creating those casts was very intentionally intended to suggest and promulgate this kind of myth. In more modern times,. the same myth was repeated in popular culture, in documentary films that could now be seen on the science channel and TLC and other kinds of documentaries.
