With my stepfather, there was a point where he had to be held account. When i became an adult, i really didn't want him in my life any more. I always let him do whatever he wanted and get away with anything. So one day he shows up at my mam's door, and i refused to let him in. It was the first time i ever stood up to him,. And it was also the first time i made him accountable for the way he's been showing up in my life and in my mam’s life. Sometimes you just have to make that decision.
