The History of the Phoenician Alphabet

In 332 BCE, Alexander the Great put Phoenicia under Greek control. The Carthage versions of the alphabets continued to be used until about the third century CE. And what the development of this new written alphabet also came new ways of writing. So it kind of catalyzed a whole new age of communication.
