Is There a Moral Obligation to Stay Ahead of the Bad Guys?

As technologies get more ful, the stakes get ever higher. It's possible to imagine that knowledge brings with it the potential for unlimited destructive power. So if we fail to create that knowledge, we are doomed. If we do create thatknowledge, we are not doomed. That story is the same as with all knowledge. But also, there is some about the bad actors that makes them progress more slowly. They are enemies of civilization. Therefore they are wrong right theyr they r and therefore they have to be in a state of mind that can tolerate being wrong. And so i say we have a moral obligation to stay ahead of them.
