i think the best you can do is empower that inner advocate that all of us have including our students. When we advocate with our students we do far more than when we do it for them or to them especially considering many educators share my identity as a white woman in an urban setting. If i am just enacting what i feel like is right and imposing that on kids i'm just causing more harm, she says. keep in mind too of like are we doing this to our community are we doing this with our community?
