The Battle to Codify Abortion Rights in Florida

Santas: Florida was an outlier in the south because we have a strong right privacy in our state constitution that's been there since around 1980. So with that precedent, we were able to fight back against an onslaught of anti abortion policies over the years. With SCOTUS decision, overruling Roe and the ripple effect across the country has come to Florida. Our legislature has since banned abortion at six weeks. That abortion ban is not affecting yet because it's privy on litigation impacting the previous 15 week abortion ban. We are taking this battle directly to the voters this this coming November in 2024.
