The Importance of Antithesis in Tolkien's Work
The idea of man at war with the hostile world and his inevitable overthrow in time is so key to understanding Tolkien's work. And it reminds me, frankly, of how we miss the boat in season one by not including Beowulf as being equally foundational to on fairy stories. We really have to thank Dr. Fliger for that. I'm glad we were able to take on something as difficult as this.
