What Do You Look for in a Product Manager?

The first thing i look for is sympathy. Secondarily, across the board. If you can pass those two tests, what's your particular differentiating factor in thinking about the team as a whole? I've made bets on, well, this product manager is interesting and brings a new dynamic because they're very technically oriented. And i resist the idea that product management comes out of a business school....
