CHAPTER

The Evolution of a Memetic Super Bug

A lot of the institutions that have currently been set up just inherently favor evil over good, right? That seems to be what you would expect if you're on, like, the civil civilizational down curve. I can add some explanation to this: The super city and the internet allowed was the evolution of a memetic super bug. And I think evil is the wrong term exactly. They are unaligned with the flourishing of like a diverse and happy species,. But they're not evil. They're just cultural units that outcompeted other cultural units, and we can try to fight against them, or not. It may kill us.

No, no, no, like, it's fine. Like, I just don't know really, like, I try to generally have a podcast that's like, you know, like, for every, for every, you know, what's wrong with the world, what here's the problem, or like, here's the solution to it. Right, but yeah, it seems like, you know, it seems like one of the underlying trends that we're seeing is that a lot of the institutions that have currently been set up just inherently favor evil over good, right? That seems to be, you know, and, and you know, that's kind of what you would expect if you're on, like, the civil civilizational down curve, right? can add some explanation to this. So what we argue in our book is that, when you're talking in biology, when you're talking about the concept of like a super bug, or something like that, like, where do super bugs evolve? Right. So they evolve often in hospitals, where you have these environments, you have a lot of immunocompromised people who are all together, a lot of antibiotics, and you've got a lot of antifungal in these environments, and so they can evolve to be resistant to them. That's what the super city and the internet allowed was the evolution of a memetic super bug. And I think evil is the wrong term exactly. They are unaligned with the flourishing of like a diverse and happy species, but they're not evil. They're just cultural units that outcompeted other cultural units, and we can try to fight against them, or not. They may kill us.
