The foundation of it is essentially the same. Most likely, this person is a good fit and they do want to help you,. And you could provide them value, they're just busy. You need to be persistent, but you also need to be polite and being patient. It's all about building relationships.

After all, selling is for businesses and salesmen.

Referrals may work for awhile, but what if you decide you want to do something different and transition to a new genre of work?
