Letterman - The Late Night People in the Nineties

Letterman always seemed like he had this edge to him. He was much more a carricature of himself in his earlier years than when he settled into role as established. His jokes were never, like, at the expense of somebody else, necessarily. They were oftenAt the expense of himself. I mean, he was someone who really did that. You would never see a a johnny carson or a j leno do that in the way that he did. Was also, he had this self deprecating thing that he really used quite well to disarm people against the feeling like they were being bullied in some way.
