With Merino now in custody, the only member of the murder trust who is still at liberty was Pasqua. They brought him down to the station that same evening, and they interviewed him as soon as they sent Kreisberg back to his cell. He said he didn't know who Mike Malloy was, but knew Nicholas Mallory's death certificate had been signed by Dr. Menzella. It was a simple slip of the tongue, but it was enough to do him in. Simon Reed reports, The questioning continued as Foley scraped together facts gathered by the detectives and secured by Foley from McNally, Murphy and Kreisberg.
