The History of AIDS in America

AIDS first appeared as a distinct illness in the summer of 1981, when The New York Times ran an article entitled, Rare Cancer Seen in 41 Homosexuals. It was for these reasons and not any divine retribution or punishment for immorality that the gay community in the United States began to become infected with HIV AIDS. We will see later how this narrow nationalism continued even once the crisis was well known.
