The Plausibility Criteria for Poetry

Good poetry produces emotions that are appropriate to the genre. So for each genre there are some emotions appropriate to it. And it's okay or at least not altogether a flaw if the poet produces those, even if it produces some things that are undesirable in other respects. He adds this comment that poetry represents universals. Now as he explains, universals are kinds of person, kinds of action.
