The Importance of Ranking in Partitioning

rank is really just another one of these partitioning verbs escaped everybody's notice until two or three years ago. The cyclic jerems were only added to rank a couple of releases ago when we realized hey wait, this should apply to rank also so yeah it'sYeah it doesn't jump out at you the the rank and key and index are all really part of one thing yeah i think for me too the one of the most surprising things was that rank wasn't conceived as what it is which is the most basic way to partition the argument.
