Every parent has some lovel of it, and some have a lot more than others. We worry about the future is a form of protection. It's good to be prepared. Imagine the worst so you can be prepared for it. And yet, it's tormenting. A gift that keeps on taking. I think i like all these things. You can do it too much. Worry is very motivating, and it's aversive. If we liked it, we be motivated to make it go away. The system works in general because it forces us to think about things that, however unpleasant, are good for us to think About.
