Bob Greene: I think every father, regardless of whether high profile in the Christian world or not faces similar challenges. The minister is really on duty all the time. He's never off duty. So you can be with your kids and not be focused the way you should be. That wasn't my biggest challenge. Maybe a bigger challenge than when I didn't handle as well was I would have unrealistic expectations for my kids. God still blessed the church because I think my priorities were right.

"The best thing a father can do for his kids is to love their mother." When kids see dad embrace their mom and treat her with dignity, it provides an unparalleled sense of security and stability in their lives. As the leader of our homes, we dads must be that godly example for our children every day. If we show them that the Lord matters more than sports, a career, or any political figure—they'll walk throughout life with His Word as their compass.
