The Conflict Between Philosophy and Religion

Maimonides did not believe in individual immortality. But he did believe in the immortality of the intellect, not of the soul,. He has a somewhat easier position than Muslim philosophers or Christian philosophers because the Hebrew Bible doesn't actually say that the bodies will be resurrected. By the 12th century when Maimonides lives, this is unquestionable for all Jews around him. It's no more and no less than an article of faith. I don't talk about it anymore.
