If you're an American who wants to work in Canada, it's not a long process really to get that temporary permit. Once you spend three years in Canada, you can apply for citizenship. If you come to Canada on a work permit, you can get PR within about a year or two down from 15 years. And within another two to three years, again, depending on the situation applied for a passport, Canadian passport, very valuable pad.
