The Politics of Party Action - Part I

i depart from both these schools and theorize parties to be what i call contentious institutions. That is because political parties are intermediary institutions. They they bridge that divide betweenthe state and civil society. A parties necessarily encompass within them both politicians and groups. For me, neither can be excluded from the picture. The question of who governs ties is a question whose answer is perpetually unsettled.
