In the 19 fifties, ten thousand gay men were fired from the federal government. The police had a list of anyone who had ever had any homosexual connections. People were commilled killing, committing suicide upon being purged from the feds. Ah, we saw things that i hope no one has to see. And the idea that to day some one misgenders you and you're draumatized is an insult to those of us who actually went through real pain. I am incredibly depressed by a younger, jgay generation that does not even acknowledge that contrast. One way, i think, is to remind people of history and of geography.
